Graduate Students

Graduate Students

Welcome to all graduate students and young adults from the Penn Catholic community. You are all welcome here and invited to get involved in all of the programming that is illustrated in the "Get Involved" section. We also want to personally invite you to get to know our "Young Adult / Graduate Student" small group which is described below.

Young Adult / Graduate Student GROUP

Our community of graduate students and young professionals in Philly who attend St. Agatha-St. James meets every Wednesday evening for Mass in the Newman Chapel at 5:30pm-6:15pm, followed by community night at 6:15-7:30pm in the rectory. Every first and third Wednesday we go out to a bar after community night! More info can be found here. To join our group, please contact Fr. Remigio Morales at

Liturgical Volunteers

An estimate of 30% of our liturgical volunteers (lectors, ushers, etc) are graduate students.

Any graduate women are welcomed to participate in our women's group. Email Carolyn Shields at to learn more!

Associate Catholic Groups

Are you a Catholic Wharton student or Law student? There's a specific club for you! Email Ana at for more info about the Wharton Catholic Club or Bill Senft to learn more about the Law Catholic Association.

From participating in Adoration, to attending Mass, there's multiple opportunities to deepen your prayer life.

All You Can Eat Chicken Parm Dinners

These dinners are held every Thursday at 6pm! For $5, you can fill your plate as many times as you so desire and meet other graduate students and the rest of the community!

Spiritual Accompaniment

From spiritual direction to simply helping you pray, you never have to be alone.

Homeless Ministry

Every Friday our Christ In The City program meets at 5:30pm at Newman to do homeless ministry.

We offer at least two retreats each year because we believe in some holy r&r. Email Marisa at for the schedule, or click here.
