Christ in the City has been a powerful experience for many of our students.

Christ in the City is a ministry dedicated to knowing, loving, and serving the poor.

Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month we go out to the streets to encounter the homeless. We don't carry food or other items with us to distribute. Instead, we spend time with them in conversation, get to know them, and love them simply for who they are... beloved children of God just like us.

CIC started in 2010 in Denver, Colorado, where it is now a full-time missionary program. It has since expanded to Philadelphia as a biweekly ministry out of the initiative of our dedicated students and staff at The Newman Center.

We invite you to join us!

Every 2nd & 4th Friday of the month

5:30pm: Training Session (first-timers only)

6:00pm: Leave Newman Center (bring your SEPTA card!)

(Typically back on campus by 8pm)

Saint Vincent de Paul Society

A new initiative at St. Agatha - St. James Parish, the Society seeks to provide for the needs of the most vulnerable in our parish community. We visit our neighbors in their homes and find ways to help them with their needs.

If you would like to participate, or simply want to learn more, please email the Parish's Outreach Coordinator, Leo Negrini, at
